Greater Manchester & Eastern Cheshire Patient Safety Collaborative (GMEC PSC) wish to invite you to the 2nd ‘Deteriorating Patient’ Learning System event. The purpose of this work-stream is to reduce avoidable harm and enhance the outcomes and experience of patients who are deteriorating, wherever they may be within the healthcare system.
The launch event for the ‘Deteriorating Patient’ work stream, hosted on the 24th May 2018, focused on the implementation of NEWS2 across the region as a mechanism to improve the detection, response and communication of acute deterioration. Based on feedback from the launch event, we will be using the 2nd learning system event to:
- Showcase exemplar projects from within the system to help inform implementation project work
- Explore the additional clinical parameters incorporated into the NEWS2 assessment tool and their implications for practice, with key note addresses from subject matter experts
- Discuss the collection and use of data for measuring quality improvement
- Explore unusual and exciting strategies for facilitating wider patient/workforce engagement with and collaboration in QI initiatives
- Facilitate networking and shared learning across the system
