Encouraging physical activity among people with psychosis

Encouraging physical activity among people with psychosis

Can YOU help to shape a future research study?

We all know that exercise is good for our physical and mental wellbeing. Even so, lots of us struggle to get enough exercise.  For people with mental health problems, physical activity can be even more important. However, sometimes despite our best intentions, barriers can get in the way, such as low energy, lack of confidence or time.

We want to look at whether a psychology technique focusing on turning good intentions into positive action can help people with psychosis to get more active and reach their goals.

We need your help!

We are currently in the planning phase of this study and we want to talk to 6-8 people who have experienced psychosis to help shape and improve its design.

We are holding an informal group meeting at 10:30 am, 1st March 2016 at The University of Manchester. You will get the opportunity to learn more about the project idea, take part in group discussions and tell us what you think.  If you would like to come, please email (or phone) lamiece.hassan@manchester.ac.uk with your name, phone number and a short message about why you are interested in attending.  We will pay you a fee for attending and cover your local travel expenses.
