SPD Annual Pharmacy Conference

7th December 2017

9:00 am - 4:30 pm

University of Salford, 43 Crescent, Salford, M5 4WT.

Join us for the Pharmacy Conference 2017 where leading experts will provide invaluable insights into the evolving role of pharmacists in the NHS. See how pharmacists can improve clinical outcomes by spotting the early signs of conditions such as cancer or sepsis, address the skills needs of the pharmacy sector, discuss how to eliminate the cost of unnecessary prescriptions and understand how your pharmacy can support the NHS as it transitions towards new models of care.

Learning expectations:

  • How can community pharmacies take the pressure of GPs by providing more clinical services?
  • How can technology and big data improve supply chain efficiency and deliver better patient care?
  • How can the sector address a growing skills gap and what impact will Brexit have on pharmacy in the UK?
  • How will NHS funding cuts impact community pharmacies?

As the number of older patients with multiple conditions increases, community pharmacies are uniquely placed to provide medical advice and clinical guidance on everything from cancer care to diabetes. Advances in technology and the use of personalised medicine will enable pharmacies to expand their remit, while new models of care will see more pharmacists deployed in a primary care setting. These changes will require a major restructuring in the way pharmacists are recruited, trained and supported throughout their careers.

With limited funding, we are able to offer complimentary places to Public Sector porfessionals. If you would like to speak with our team please use this contact form.
