The judges for The University of Manchester’s Making a Difference Awards has informed the Health eResearch Centre that our nomination for the H@PPI forum has been shortlisted. It is for a social responsibility award and the group will go forward to the Making a Difference final on the evening of Tuesday 1 May.

There were over 145 entries for our awards and the judging panels had a tough time in narrowing them down.

The celebration event will take place in the Whitworth Hall at 5–8.15pm. At the event the President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell will give a welcome address and our Chancellor, Lemn Sissay will present the winners and highly commended with awards in each of the categories.

Sarah Fox leads the group activities, she said, “Fresh from the success of a high commendation last year, the patient and public forum have their fingers crossed to receive the same again, or maybe even go for the win! They truly deserve to be awarded an accolade of this manner, their involvement with researchers and also at public events is invaluable. Having been together for four years, they’ve become a well-oiled machine.”
