Born in Bradford: The city-wide medical research study

Posted on October 22, 2015

Born in Bradford is one of the biggest medical research studies in the UK following the lives of 13500 children born in Bradford between March 2007 and December 2010.

Information has been gathered on the health of the children and of their families to find out more about the cuases of childhood illnesses. This information is collected and stored in electronic health records resulting in a unique database. Partcipants are fully involved in research via access to their health records through mobile and web applications.

This birth cohort study is a powerful way to research how many different influences shape childhood and illness. The data is helping parents and researchers identify causes and take preventative measures.

28,000 people are involved in the research study.
